Instagram's AI features are moving to a paid model
High running costs are pushing Meta to introduce a dedicated subscription for heavy AI users.

Instagram is preparing to introduce a paid model for its artificial intelligence features. According to Instagram chief Adam Mosseri, AI models have simply become too expensive to run for free indefinitely.
Users are already encountering daily usage caps on generative AI tools used for creating images and videos on the platform. To bypass these restrictions, Meta is currently building a dedicated subscription model. Under this upcoming system, heavy users will soon need to pay to secure expanded access to advanced in-app AI tools.
